Carnival of Joy – a day of fun and learning

GERA Developments, with a track record of over 48 years, one of the pioneers of the real estate industry and the creators of India’s first ChildCentric Homes recently organised a one of its kind engagement initiative, ‘Carnival of Joy-2018’.
This day-long event, organised for the residents of Gera’s Greensville enjoyed enthusiastic participation from children and parents alike. The Carnival of Joy, conceptualised to aid discovery of what children are truly passionate about, was unique in that it combined both developmental and fun activities. Children across age groups were given the opportunity to try their hands at a sport or a hobby at the celebrity-led academies at Gera’s Song of Joy.
Gera’s ChildCentric Homes have already created a unique category in the real estate sector by providing its residents with not only a premium home and infrastructure but also facilities to ensure safety, convenience, fun and development for children in the form of a state-of-the-art clubhouse with celebrity-led academies.
Amongst the many features provided at Gera’s ChildCentric Homes are the tie-ups with world-class celebrity academies for professional coaching in the field of sports, arts and personality development making learning a fun-filled experience. Gera Developments has roped in India’s best to offer intellectual, physical and vocational coaching, right in the housing society premises.
Shankar Mahadevan for music, Shiamak Davar for dance, Viswanathan Anand for chess, Mahesh Bhupati for tennis, Anil Kumble for cricket, Lillette Dubey for Theatre are the celebrity-led academies that are currently active on campus. The Dale Carnegie Institute along with other tie-ups for swimming and art form the impressive array of choices offered to the children.
Gera’s Carnival of Joy had mini-workshops offered by each academy. Children and parents could attend any of these workshops and experience firsthand what each academy had to offer. The workshops combined activity-based learning with tips and techniques and thus made for very engaging sessions. Some had a competitive twist which had the kids and parents all excited. Carefully curated to ensure that children learn while having fun, these workshops saw kids make a beeline. From learning popular tunes with a classical twist at the Classicapella workshop by the Shankar Mahadevan Academy to dabbling in Bollywood dance at the Shiamak Davar Dance Academy, to facing a mean machine pelting googlies at Anil Kumble’s Tenvic, to expressing their creative side at the art and craft workshop, to relays at the half Olympic size pool at Gera’s Song of Joy, both children and parents were spoilt for choice. Parents excitedly narrated how they thought the Vedic Math workshop drew them into a joyful discovery of how children can have fun with Math. Gera Developments also introduced Iyengar yoga with an introductory session for adults by Shri Hitesh.
The squeals of excitement all day long were a testimony to the fact that every child left that evening having thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Parents lauded the event for its grandeur and thoughtful planning. Ankita Agarwal said, “It was a well spent Sunday for us as a family, it helped us bond with our child while playing tennis together and splashing in the pool together. I remember I last danced as a child and at the Carnival of Joy, I was taken back to my childhood while dancing at the Shiamak Davar Academy workshop, it was such a stress buster. The yoga class was the cherry on the cake. Thank you for getting everything to our doorstep. It has opened up a lot of avenues for my child and for us adults too. We are extremely happy to be a part of the Gera family. I am glad we choose Gera’s Trinity Towers.”
Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Gera, MD, Gera Developments said, “At Gera Developments, we seek to nurture the community by bringing people together. The Carnival of Joy was our endeavor to encourage the process of discovery by allowing residents of Gera’s Greensville to experience each of our academies firsthand. While with the product – Gera’s ChildCentricTM Homes, we have created a multifaceted living space that allows a child to choose and develop across art, sports, dance, music etc, something that every parent wants to offer their child, the carnival of joy was our attempt to encourage them to participate and discover what they truly enjoy and are passionate about. The response has been very encouraging and I am confident that parents and children alike will develop their talents at the fully functional, world-class academies on their campus.”
