Alfa Laval offers new school building to rural students

ALFA Laval India, under their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, inaugurated the new building of Samarth Vidya Mandir Madhayamik, School located in Velvand, a remote village about 20 Kms from Bhor, Maharashtra, where the company has built a new building having seven classrooms and modern toilets for girls and boys. The company has also provided the school with furniture like cupboards, teachers’ tables, chairs and LED lightings.

The building was inaugurated by Anantha Padmanabhan, managing director, Alfa Laval India and cluster president for India Middle East and Africa.

Anantha states, “Company’s Mission is to create better everyday conditions for people through work in the focus areas for a positive contribution to the community at large. Alfa Laval’s Business Principles, encompassing Social and Environmental elements amongst others, describe the way the corporate must act so as to unearth boundless opportunities to make a positive contribution to a more sustainable future for India.

Mattias K Andersson, Director Operations, Alfa Laval India, who presided as Chairman of the function said, “Alfa Laval’s mission is to create better everyday conditions for people through our work in the focus areas for a positive contribution to the community at large. Our focus is on the broad development of the communities located in backward areas across the country and supporting this school with education infrastructure is one of the examples.” ذ
