NUVOCO Vistas Corp Ltd (Nuvoco), a leading building materials company, has launched ‘Concreto Permadure’ – a water-and-cracks-resistant concrete – through a virtual launch programme.
Concreto Permadure improves the durability of the structure by minimising micro-cracks and water seepage. It has been created to specifically address the needs of the Individual Home Builders (IHB) segment, which often struggles with these issues. The product has been designed and developed at Nuvoco’s Construction Development and Innovation Centre (CDIC).
Today, the most common problems faced during construction are the development of micro-cracks and water seepage, which leads to the formation of fungus and algae on the surface. This not only causes health issues; but also reduces the durability of the structure.
Concreto Permadure addresses these challenges by ensuring a dense and durable concrete structure by providing resistance against water seepage and micro-cracks like plastic shrinkage. Concreto Permadure is produced by carefully proportioning cement, sand and aggregates along with specialised water-resistant chemicals and engineered fibres. As the concrete comprises an integral waterproofing compound and fibres; this results in a more cohesiveness mix and reduced segregation. Concreto Permadure is available in M20 to M40 grades, and can also be customised.
